Advice on Picking a Wedding Date and Avoiding Dates that Will be a Problem Later

Most of the wedding articles you'll read will tell advice on the best wedding dates to have the best weather and the biggest discounts. What they don't tell you is what the WORST wedding dates are. Here are wedding dates you'll surely want to avoid when planning:

Wedding dates that may bring bad luck to your marriage

Weekends that include a Friday the 13th
The Ides of March (March 15)
September 11
Daylight savings days (since you're guests may either arrive an hour early, or show up horribly late.)

Wedding Dates when your guests might rather be somewhere else.

New Year's and Christmas (Anywhere between the 23th of December and the 5th of January)
Thanksgiving (In US, the fourth Thursday of November.

Compile a List of Wedding Vendors

Next, set up the first column. This should be a list of your vendors. The main vendors that you will likely be starting with are:

caterer reception
ceremony
band
photographer
videographer
florist
bakery
clergy
dresses
invitations

Fill in Wedding Vendor Information

Start with contact information like:

company name
address
phone number
contact name
website
email

Calculate the Wedding Budget Totals

The last thing that you want to set up on the spreadsheet is a calculation of your totals. The most important total is for the total cost. You can also keep track of how much each Payee is contributing. You could name these rows:

Total Bride's Family
Total Groom's Family
Total Personal
